About
Given the name "Exploding" soon after birth due to his loud and sporadic fits of crying, although everyone who knows him addresses him simply as Fish
Born to a family of miners, Fish spent his youth surrounded by heavy machinery
This sparked a lifelong interest in technology and he dreamed of becoming an inventor himself.
He eventually wound up working for Garlond Ironworks under his idol, Cid
An accident of Fish's own doing found him scarred, partially blind, and fired from the company of his dreams
Fish drifted for a while, eventually finding stable work repairing the mechs use at the Wolves' Den
During his time at the Wolves' Den he encountered and befriended a Viera living under the Pier: Qara Wen
The two worked together for months until finding themselves recruited to work on a merchant ship known as The Enduring Deeds
Relations

Qara Wen
"Goggles"
Fish's closest friend and a fellow mechanic. Meeting by complete chance, the two have since formed a bond akin to that of brotherhood. Can be a bit "strange" to say the least, but Fish doesn't trust anyone else aboard the ship nearly as much as he does Qara.

Styrdaga Rhetikympfsyn
"Cap'n"
Captain of the merchant ship The Enduring Deeds. His overbearing presence can grate Fish but he ultimately respects his leadership, though it's usually shown in a bregrudging manner. No matter how much Fish may get on his nerves he would never betray the trust Styr has in him, he owes the captain for his new life after all.

Sami'to Zhwan
"Sideburns"
Quartermaster of the ship and second in command. Fish's experiments and antics drive him up the walls of the ship to the point that most from the outside believe the relationship between Fish and Sami to be antagonistic. The truth of the matter isn't too far from that idea, but there is a deep underlying acceptance the two have for one another.

Claire Ashe
"Lemur"
A member of the Lemures in Uldah assigned as protection and as as the self-appointed ship cook as part of a business partnership. The woman normally keeps to herself and rarely interacts with the rest of the crew but from the few times Fish has been near her, something about the mercenary felt ...off.
About Me
IRL: Male, 23
This is an alt, won't be on them all the time.
Hooks are not hard set rules to engage, just coming up and talking works too.
IC =/= OOC. My character is a character, I am myself. I am not my character.
No ERP or relationship RP. Not interested, don't even try it.
Don’t be a dick. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. will NOT be tolerated.
A lot of my time is spent either raiding or away from the game. That being said not opposed to more long term RP, just a disclaimer.
Personality & Hooks
Open Minded: Extremely boisterous and loud, Fish has no trouble speaking his mind even when he REALLY shouldn't. Open to most if not all random conversations simply to stave off boredom.
Alchohol Afficionado: The crew's most avid drinker, enjoying everything from back alley brews to high end bourbons. His high alcohol tolerance has meant the crew has surprisingly yet to see him actually drunk. If you see him at a bar, don’t hesitate to say hello. He might even buy you another round on him.
Efficient Effort: Will only give the bare minimum amount of effort for his work to be done, unless it's an invention of his own or Qara's design that he's working on. Once he is fully invested in a project, however, it can be hard to get him to stop and take breaks until it’s near perfect in his eye
Self-Made Man: Most of Fish’s equipment was designed and built by him. His pistol is no different, a “Multi-Chamber Variable Aether Blaster” as he calls it. It features a built in Aetherotransformer and rotating chambers that can fire a variety of rounds made from pure aether. If you want something repaired, upgraded, or built from scratch, Fish is usually up to negotiate rates and deals…usually.
Eye For An Eye: Partially blind in his left eye, the special goggles he wears features a lens that aids his vision while working on his inventions. He uses them sparingly, as having the device on for too long gives him a headache. Has no issue talking about the incident this far removed from it.
Namesmith: Comes up with a nickname for everyone, whether they want one or not. It's not that Fish has problems remembering names, he does it to "get t'know ya fresh, wit'out any o' th'baggage y'had before" in his own words. Might take a few encounters but if you earn a nickname from Fish, then you’ve made a ride-or-die friend for life.
